So I got this sony nwz-e438f, real nice. And it wasn't working in Debian (but it was kind of in amarok). So I instaled the latest kubuntu and voila, it shows as a mountable device where I can copy files to. Unfortunately not all my mp3's have the ID3 tags correctly configured, so some albums show as unknows in the mp3 player.

That's my experience I wanted to share to some googlers.
